The Tai Tapu Hotel was established in 1856 as a drovers stop and stop over for the Cob & Co. coaches. The hotel has a 100 seater Al a carte Restaurant and over 2 acres of outdoor seating and sheltered courtyards. Modernized but still retaining the tranquil country feeling the hotel has recently added a purpose built function venue. Seating up to 90 and 130 mingling with bifold doors opening to the North to a private outdoor patio and grassed area with over hanging palm trees. Many fantastic weddings have been had at the hotel. Function room has hosted corporate events, meetings and seminars. Engagement parties with the band playing into the wee small hours.
